Clown Fish

Whale Shark in Raja Ampat

A great clownfish picture I tookI started diving around 2006.  It has been a fantastic adventure, to say the least.  I fell in love with diving the second I was in the water with a tank.  In fact, my first “resort dive” (where I was not certified yet) was off the coast of St. Lucia.  I was on a Windjammer liveaboard for the week and one of those days the group was headed to see a banana plantation.  Since I grew up in Indonesia for 19 years I have seen plenty of banana trees.  So I asked what else can we do?  Then there she was, Ms. Scuba Diving.  Yep, I fell in love with her the second I jumped into the water and we have never parted ways.

I am not big into baking in the sun on the beach.  Or soaking up the sun on the beach. A few minutes is ok but then I am bored. I love learning new things and diving allowed me to see another part of life that is so amazing.  I took up underwater photography right away because I wanted to remember the great places and things I saw as well as show them to friends. For sure, I am not a professional underwater photographer.  But, I am having a blast with it and learning so much.  I graduated from a SeaLife camera set to a Sea&Sea Canon DSL set up this year, 2013.  I also am learning the ropes of the GoPro for the video side. Jakarta International School

It has been a brilliant journey and one I am so thankful to participate in.  I have my dive pictures also located by my dive trips on my web site here.  But I love taking pictures of certain types of fish and coral so I have decided to dedicated an area on my Doug’s Corner dive site for these groups.  So here they are.  I am starting with Clownfish and will be adding other subjects when time permits.
