Diving in Bonaire! Amazing place and amazing dive spots. It was awesome to dive with three dive friends from Phoenix, Arizona this past August in Bonaire! Who went? One of my coolest buds, Austin. Not only does Austin dive but he also has his own private pilot license and skies. For me, I rather see a shark a foot from me (and I have many times) than ski down a “huge, big, humongous hill on two “sticks” on a cold winter day. But then again, I am a big chicken when it comes to stuff like that. Barb, one of greatest gals of all time also went with us. Barb is a flight attendant and loves adventure like Austin and I do. Barb also brought one of her dear friends, Betty, with her who also is a flight attendant with South West.
Well, us four had a blast of a week in Bonaire. We stayed at the Buddy Dive resort which was totally amazing. Two great big places to stay, 2 trucks to go shoring diving with, great breakfast food, and friendly staff. We dove about 4 dives a day going with two in the AM and 2 early PM. Then I had my usual afternoon nap which I, yes, totally adore. Call me old but naps are an amazing thing to have, especially after 4 great dives. Then we went out to different restaurants through the week for our dinners.
One week of diving seems like a long time but it sure went quick. Just as soon as we were getting off the plane to enjoy a week of fun, ocean, and sun we were back on the plane headed back to Phoenix. Well, there is always another dive trip to go on that I have already planned to brighten up my spirits. I can tell you that this dive trip was one of the best I have ever been on because of the friends I was with; Austin, Barb, and Betty!
Cheers,
